about

Minus Forty-Five is the first of a series of Cornshed songs with vocals, and a preview of what to expect from the band on their upcoming releases. The song's lyrics , and overall vibe, are a story inspired by the long cold winters of North-Western Ontario.

lyrics

We started a fire in the sky
Cause' it was too cold outside
Hearth, and hide
Matter, under mind
Minus forty-five

The cedar and smoke, dawned light
This moment will pass, in due time
But something ain't right
Reflections of embers in your eyes
Minus forty-five

Sparks, they're flying now
I can't wait to discover
The trees, we'll burn em' down
To cope with the weather
I don't want to believe it

Waist deep in snow, stark white
Pray that you make it on home tonight
But they've lied, all lies
Crowned sparrow in flight
Minus forty-five

The stars, they're crying now
We have one another
The trees, we'll burn em' down
To cope with the weather
It's time we believe it

Sparks, they're flying now
I can't wait to discover
The trees, we'll burn em' down
We have one another
The stars, they're crying now
I can't wait to discover
It's time we believe it

about

Cornshed Vancouver, British Columbia

Start from roots in folk, bluegrass, and East Coast music, and saturate in punk from the Pacific Northwest. The result is clusterfolk: a stomping, binge-drinking, forget-about-your-next-day-of-work experience.

Cornshed is a Vancouver band with a habit of bringing hyperactive mayhem to small country towns.
